The story behind our name
Some beginnings wait beneath the surface.
There was once a person who believed growth meant being untouched by hardship. They imagined healing as a return to the forest before the fire—before the loss, the fear, and the changes they had never chosen.
Follow the storyThe jack pine
Fire changes the landscape.
But a jack pine does not grow by returning to what was. Its cones can remain tightly closed for years, holding their seeds beneath a layer of resin. Only intense heat can open them.
After a forest fire passes, those seeds fall into soil made rich with ash, beneath a sky no longer crowded by the old canopy.
The clearing
The fire was not a gift.
They never had to call it one. It had changed the landscape.
Still, as they stood among what remained, they began to notice the open sky. They found small pieces of themselves that had been waiting: a voice, a boundary, a hope, a new way of understanding what they needed.
New growth
Growth came quietly.
First as a seed. Then as the courage to take root in unfamiliar ground.
Over time, what had felt like an ending became a place where something authentic and resilient could begin.
Ember + bloom
What endures.What comes next.
The ember is what endures—the warmth, strength, and possibility that remain even after a difficult season.
The bloom is what comes next: not a return to who we were, but a fuller becoming of who we are.
Ember and Bloom holds space for both—the story of what happened and the life still waiting to grow.
